At this time, SI3 supports piezo controller operation for ordinary stepping stacks, whether as the primary or secondary stage controller (SI3.8 allows dual stage controller specification, stepping with piezos, e.g. one for coarse and another for fine stepping). SI4 supports stack operations and additionally allows piezo sweeps for for stack acquisitions. ScanImage 4 supports both stepping and sweeping. Sweeping allows faster 'volume imaging'. |
