Overview

ScanImage 5 will 1) unify resonant and galvo scanning capabilities into a single architecture and 2) support the use of generic resonant scanning hardware. ScanImage 5 will support hardware configurations with resonant scanning, galvo scanning, or both (by SI 5.1).

ScanImage 5 will have customization layers for both CPU and FPGA-based processing which can be used to implement online or real-time analysis, including closed-loop experiments with parallel imaging and (photo)stimulus.

Digitizer Hardware

Resonant Scanning

ScanImage 5 will use National Instruments FlexRIO hardware for resonant scanning.  The system consists of a: chassis, FPGA Module, and digitizer module.

For ScanImage 5 users, National Instruments has prepared the following system bundles for 4 recommended configurations:

PXIe-7961R
(Smaller FPGA)

PXIe-7966R
(Larger FPGA)
NI 5732 (2 Chans/80MHz/14-bit)
NI 5734 (4 Chans/120MHz/16-bit)
