BEAMS Dialog

This dialog – accessed from Settings >> Beams... on the panel menubar – specifies which ScanImage Beams (Pockels Cell channels) are ON during different ScanImage acquisition modes.

A Beam that is ON during an acquisition means that it is at level specified for that Beam () for all or part of the acquisition. Otherwise, Beam is OFF and is held, for the entire acquisition, at the minimum power level determined for Beam during its most recent Pockels calibration.

  • Dialog is only accessible if is enabled in the INI File; within dialog, controls are only enabled for those Beams configured in the INI File
  • Dialog is modal – it must be closed before ScanImage (or any Matlab) operation can continue
  • The settings on this dialog are part of the ScanImage User Settings. Pressing the caussing settings on this dialog to be saved to the active USR file.
  • Note that in this context, a Snapshot acquisition is handled differently from a GRAB acquisition
