Servo (cusp) delay adjustable from Main Controls
The Cusp (Servo) Delay control in the
Advanced Configuration...
dialog box represents the (fast) mirror servo driver's phase delay. The Advanced Configuration... dialog box is accessible via Settings >> Advanced... from the
Configuration...
dialog box. The Configuration dialog box, in turn, is accessible via Settings >> Edit >> Configuration... from the
Main Controls
window menubar.
In ScanImage 3.5, the name Cusp (Servo) Delay replaces the name Cusp Delay in ScanImage 3.0, to better reflect the parameter's connection to the mirror servo driver.
Additionally, ScanImage 3.5 allows the Servo Delay to be adjusted via new controls which now appear on the
Main Controls
window. The new controls allow the user to adjust the Servo Delay without opening the Configuration... window. In particular, the value can be adjusted while live imaging in FOCUS mode.
Adjusting the Servo Delay
The effect of adjusting the Servo Delay is to shift the imaged area left or right. When the servo delay is too (small/large), a 'reflected' image will appear on the (right/left) side of the image. The optimal servo delay value is exactly between the values where these reflected images become apparent on either side.
If it is not possible to eliminate the 'reflected' image with any value of the servo delay, try reducing the Fill Fraction value in the
Advanced Configuration
dialog box.
The Servo Delay value is specified as a fraction of the Seconds / Line value in the
Configuration
dialog box.
ScanImage 3.6 will more completely address issues related to optimizing scan parameters
'Infinite' FOCUS operation
An Inf Focus checkbox has been added to the
Main Controls
window. Selecting this checkbox will cause FOCUS acquisitions to continue indefinitely until the user presses ABORT. When deselected, the ScanImage 3.0 behavior of scanning 80 frames before stopping is employed.
